Factor4 Taps Shopley to Expand Gift Card Business in Canada

Factor4

BROOMALL, PA — Factor4 LLC has signed an exclusive reseller agreement with Shopley Inc. to expand its gift card and loyalty business in Canada, giving the Broomall-based company a local partner to sell and support its technology across English- and French-speaking markets.

Under the agreement, Shopley will become Factor4’s exclusive Canadian reseller for its omnichannel gift card and loyalty solution. Shopley plans to integrate Factor4’s platform with its own merchant operations and engagement technology.

The arrangement gives Factor4 access to Shopley’s existing Canadian relationships and market expertise while establishing a combined operational and technology approach to serving merchants and merchant services providers.

Factor4 Chief Executive Officer Dan Battista framed the agreement as an extension of the company’s partnership-based distribution strategy.

“Steve and his team have great relationships and understanding of the Canadian market,” Battista stated, adding that Factor4 views the reseller model as a way to support Shopley while expanding its own business.

The relationship between the companies developed through Shopley CEO Steve Levely, who joined Factor4 as an adviser in fall 2025 after selling his previous company, Ackroo. Levely subsequently invested in Shopley and became its CEO.

Levely and Battista initially considered positioning Factor4 and Shopley as complementary providers before shifting toward an exclusive reseller arrangement as conditions in Canada’s gift card and loyalty market changed.

“We first explored working as complimentary solutions but with the many changes that have happened in the Canadian gift card and loyalty market, we decided Shopley becoming a formal reseller and us building a combined operational and technology solution was best,” Levely stated.

For Shopley, the agreement adds Factor4’s established gift card technology to a platform that includes its own loyalty capabilities. The companies plan to combine those technologies as they pursue merchants and merchant services providers in Canada.
