EAST HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced emergency pavement patching for Route 30 near the Centerville Road Improvement Project in Lancaster County. The work is scheduled for Monday, January 13, and will involve rolling lane closures in both directions.
The repairs, contingent on favorable weather, will take place between 9:00 AM and noon. Short-term lane closures of up to 20 minutes are expected, potentially causing delays for drivers. The project aims to maintain roadway safety while advancing broader infrastructure upgrades.
The Centerville Road Interchange Improvement Project is part of a $36.3 million initiative led by JD Eckman, Inc., designed to enhance a significant transportation corridor. The project includes road widening, drainage overhauls, structural replacements, Superpave overlay, guiderail upgrades, ADA compliance improvements, and updated traffic signals. Work covers Centerville Road from Cornerstone Drive to Marietta Avenue (Route 23) and sections of Marietta Avenue and Columbia Avenue, extending across East Hempfield and Manor Townships.
Construction is slated for completion by July 22, 2025. Motorists are advised to plan for potential delays and exercise caution while traveling through the construction zones.
