Columbia Man Facing Charges of Strangulation and Assault

COLUMBIA, PA — A local man from Columbia, Pennsylvania, has been charged with felony strangulation and simple assault, according to the Columbia Borough Police Department.

The alleged incident took place in the early hours of January 14, 2024, at approximately 2:49 AM. The accused, 48-year-old Foster P. Butler, was reportedly on the 300 block of North Third Street, Columbia, when the alleged crime occurred.

In response to the allegations, an officer with the Columbia Borough Police Department has filed charges against Butler.

It’s crucial to remember that these charges are merely allegations at this point. As with all individuals accused of a crime, Butler is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
