WILMINGTON, DE — Two individuals have been arrested in connection with alleged drug-related activity in downtown Wilmington, according to authorities.
On June 26, around 2:30 p.m., officers from the Wilmington Police Department’s Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were conducting an operation in the 100 block of West 8th Street. During their surveillance, investigators say they observed a man and woman involved in suspected drug transactions.
Police approached and detained 24-year-old Kelandre Jackson and 49-year-old Luciana North without incident. Officers reported recovering approximately 2.64 grams of crack cocaine as well as drug paraphernalia during the encounter.
Both Jackson and North now face charges of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver and second-degree conspiracy.
Following their arrests, both defendants were arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas. Jackson was released on $10,000 unsecured bail, while North was released on $7,000 unsecured bail.
All charges are allegations, and both defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
