Wilmington Police Seek Public’s Help in 2017 Homicide Investigation of Bryan Brooks

WILMINGTON, DE — The Wilmington Police Department is renewing its call for information from the community as detectives continue to investigate the 2017 fatal shooting of Bryan Brooks.

On the evening of April 25, 2017, around 9:17 p.m., officers responded to a report of gunfire in the 900 block of Maryland Avenue. When they arrived, they found 29-year-old Bryan Brooks suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, Brooks ultimately died from his injuries.

The case has remained unsolved for more than seven years, and it continues to be a priority for the department’s Cold Case Unit. Investigators believe that members of the public may hold crucial information that could help move the case forward and provide answers to Brooks’s family.

The Wilmington Police Department emphasized that even small details can be vital. Community members are urged to come forward if they have any information that might assist detectives.
