WILMINGTON, DE — Chase and Air Canada are expanding rewards and travel benefits on the Chase Air Canada Aeroplan Card, increasing earn rates and adding automatic elite status as competition for high-spending travel customers intensifies.
The refreshed card now provides automatic Aeroplan 25K Status without a spending requirement, giving primary cardmembers Priority Check-In, Zone 2 Priority Boarding, Star Alliance recognition and five annual eUpgrade Credits.
Cardholders can earn as much as 5 Aeroplan points per dollar on eligible Air Canada purchases. That combines 3 points per dollar charged to the card with an additional 2 points from Air Canada on eligible flights when the traveler is using Aeroplan 25K Status.
The card now earns 3 points per dollar on travel purchases and 2 points per dollar on restaurant spending, including eligible delivery and takeout, as well as grocery and gas purchases. Other purchases earn 1 point per dollar.
Chase and Air Canada are also adding a 15% discount on eligible Air Canada award-flight redemptions and up to $100 annually in Air Canada statement credits, delivered through as many as two $50 credits every six months.
“Our goal with the refreshed Chase Air Canada Aeroplan Card is to deliver new value that makes the card even more compelling for people frequently traveling from the U.S. to Canada and beyond,” Chase President of Co-Brand Cards Chris Cracchiolo said.
Beginning in January 2027, Aeroplan credit cardmembers will also receive a fourth rental-car day free when booking four-day rentals with Aeroplan points at more than 11,000 locations worldwide.
Existing benefits remain in place, including a $120 credit toward Global Entry, TSA PreCheck or NEXUS every four years, a fourth hotel night free on qualifying three-night Aeroplan point redemptions and no foreign transaction fees.
Cardholders can also redeem Aeroplan points through Pay Yourself Back for statement credits tied to recent travel, dining, grocery and gas purchases.
Travel protections include trip cancellation and interruption insurance, baggage delay insurance, trip delay reimbursement and auto rental collision damage coverage.
The card also includes World Elite Mastercard benefits such as concierge service, Mastercard Priceless Experiences and promotional offers from participating brands.
Aeroplan points can be redeemed for available Air Canada seats and for flights across more than 50 partner airlines serving more than 1,300 destinations, according to the companies. Economy flights within North America can start at 6,000 points.
“A great credit card should be rewarding every time you use it and make the travel experience better where it matters,” Air Canada Vice President of Loyalty and Product Scott O’Leary said.
Chase is also using a richer introductory offer to attract new cardholders. New customers can earn as many as 115,000 bonus Aeroplan points, including 75,000 points after spending $4,000 in the first three months and another 40,000 points after spending $20,000 in the first 12 months.
The Chase Air Canada Aeroplan Card carries a $195 annual fee.
