Cencora Taps Lincoln Financial CEO for Board in Strategic Governance Move

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA — Cencora, Inc. (NYSE: COR) said its board of directors has elected Ellen Cooper as a new independent director, adding a veteran insurance executive and risk management leader to the healthcare company’s governance team.

Cooper’s appointment became effective January 20, 2026, the company said.

Cooper is the chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Lincoln Financial, where she has led the insurer since May 2022. Before becoming CEO, she held a series of senior leadership roles at Lincoln, including executive vice president, chief investment officer, head of enterprise risk, and head of annuity solutions.

Prior to joining Lincoln, Cooper spent several years at Goldman Sachs Asset Management as managing director and global head of insurance strategy. Earlier in her career, she served as chief risk officer for AEGON Americas and worked as a principal at Ernst & Young LLP.

Cencora Board Chair Mark Durcan said Cooper’s background in risk management and leadership within a highly regulated industry strengthens the board’s ability to support the company’s long-term growth strategy. He said her appointment reflects the board’s continued focus on broadening its expertise as the company looks ahead.

Cencora President and Chief Executive Officer Robert P. Mauch said Cooper brings strategic insight and financial experience that will support the company as it advances its role as a global healthcare organization focused on improving patient outcomes.

Cooper holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Temple University and is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst, and a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder. She currently serves on the executive committee of the American Council of Life Insurers and on the Board of Trustees of Temple University.
