MILFORD TWP, PA — Drivers in Bucks County should prepare for detours next week as the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission begins bridge construction that will close Kumry Road between Rosenberger Road and Walnut Lane starting Tuesday, November 18.
The closure will remain in place through 5:00 PM on Friday, November 21, while crews complete the bridge work. Passenger vehicles will be detoured via Allentown Road, Route 663 (John Fries Highway), and Krammes Road, while large trucks will follow a longer route using Main Street, Broad Street, Tollgate Road, Route 309 (West End Boulevard), and Route 663.
Local access will remain open, but PennDOT is advising motorists to allow extra travel time as delays and backups are expected, particularly during peak travel periods.
The project is part of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission’s ongoing infrastructure improvements to enhance bridge safety and extend roadway longevity.
