Bridge Construction to Shut Down Key Stretch of Newportville Road in Bucks County

Traffic alert, expect delays

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Drivers in Bristol and Bensalem townships should prepare for detours as the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission begins bridge construction that will close a section of Newportville Road for nearly two weeks.

Starting Monday, December 1, Newportville Road will be closed around the clock between Zimmerman Lane and New Falls Road. The closure will remain in place through Friday, December 12. During this period, motorists will be directed to follow a detour using Zimmerman Lane and New Falls Road. Local access will still be permitted for residents and businesses.

The project is part of the Turnpike Commission’s ongoing infrastructure improvement program aimed at modernizing bridges and ensuring long-term roadway safety.
