BioVid Launches Oncology AI Tool to Predict Physician Behavior

BioVid

BRISTOL, PA — BioVid has launched Tumor Worlds, an oncology intelligence platform that uses behavioral science and artificial intelligence to help pharmaceutical companies anticipate how physicians may respond to new clinical evidence before those shifts appear in prescription data.

The Bristol-based life sciences consultancy is initially deploying the system in non-small cell lung cancer, with prostate and pancreatic cancer models planned next. BioVid said it intends to expand the platform across more tumor types through 2026.

Tumor Worlds combines oncology expertise with BioVid’s CIAIRA AI platform to analyze factors that can influence treatment adoption, including physician behavior, institutional constraints, social norms and competitive conditions.

The product represents an effort to move pharmaceutical market research beyond historical prescribing patterns toward earlier indicators of how clinical practice may change as new evidence emerges.

“The industry is trapped in a ‘rearview mirror’ approach, relying on historical data to predict what physicians will do next,” Chief Executive Officer Peggy Hirtle said. BioVid’s model is designed to identify where adoption may accelerate, stall or fail before those trends become visible in prescribing data, she added.

The system is built around behavioral models covering more than 30 tumor types and is divided into four analytical suites.

Its World Dynamics Suite examines clinical and competitive factors affecting how quickly a market can change, while the Treater Insights Suite evaluates physician roles and influence networks from awareness through prescribing.

A Cognitive Insights Suite analyzes psychological factors influencing treatment decisions and potential weaknesses in messaging. The Lifecycle Intelligence Suite is intended to identify risks, assess competitive strategies and guide resource allocation during a drug’s commercial lifecycle.

CIAIRA synthesizes information across those components to identify changes in physician sentiment and other potential leading indicators as oncology markets evolve, according to BioVid.

“Success in oncology is no longer just about having the best data; it’s about understanding the social and structural reality of the physician,” Meredith Jacobetz, senior director of BioVid’s Oncology Center of Excellence, said.

BioVid is positioning Tumor Worlds for pharmaceutical companies making clinical-development, launch and commercialization decisions in markets where treatment standards and competitive conditions can change rapidly.
