Attalon Adds Former BlueHalo CEO to Board Amid Defense Expansion

Business News

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Defense technology company Attalon has appointed former BlueHalo Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Moneymaker to its board of directors as the company seeks to expand manufacturing capacity and accelerate development of directed-energy and aerospace technologies for U.S. national security customers.

The appointment adds an executive with experience scaling defense technology businesses in areas including directed energy, counter-drone systems, autonomy and advanced hardware, according to the company.

Moneymaker previously led BlueHalo through a period of growth that expanded the company’s portfolio of counter-unmanned aircraft and directed-energy capabilities. His career has also included leadership roles spanning major defense contractors, startup ventures, private equity-backed companies and intelligence-focused organizations.

Attalon Chief Executive Officer John Bergeron said the company is positioning itself to meet growing demand for directed-energy technologies as military programs move from development into operational deployment.

“The defense industrial base is being retooled in real time,” Bergeron said. “The winners will innovate faster, scale manufacturing capacity quicker, and deliver reliable technology to the field.”

Bergeron said Moneymaker’s experience commercializing and scaling advanced defense technologies would support Attalon’s efforts to increase production of high-energy laser systems and related technologies.

Moneymaker said Attalon’s manufacturing capabilities and portfolio of laser, optical and coating technologies position the company to serve growing defense requirements.

“The company’s advanced lasers, optics, and coatings are embedded in mission critical platforms where precision, reliability, and speed of execution matter,” Moneymaker said.

The board appointment comes as Attalon increases investment in manufacturing capacity, research and development, and program execution. The company said it is expanding work across directed-energy systems, optical manufacturing, precision coatings and other advanced subsystems used in aerospace and defense applications.

Attalon was re-established as an independent company in 2025 with backing from Advent. The company’s technologies support aircraft, satellite, missile and high-energy defense platforms used by the United States and allied nations.
