ArriVent Nears Pivotal Lung Cancer Data With $373 Million Cash

ArriVent BioPharma

NEWTOWN SQUARE, PA — ArriVent BioPharma, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVBP) is approaching a pivotal Phase 3 readout for its lead lung cancer drug while advancing two antibody-drug conjugates into later stages of early clinical development, with $373.1 million in cash and investments expected to fund operations into 2028.

The company expects topline results in the second half of 2026 from FURVENT, its global Phase 3 trial evaluating firmonertinib as a first-line treatment for patients with non-small cell lung cancer carrying EGFR exon 20 insertion mutations.

The readout represents a key clinical catalyst for ArriVent as it seeks to establish firmonertinib as a treatment for uncommon EGFR mutations. The company is also conducting the pivotal ALPACCA trial as part of that strategy.

ArriVent presented preclinical data at the 2026 American Association for Cancer Research Annual Meeting supporting the development of firmonertinib, including high-resolution crystal structure data examining the EGFR inhibitor.

“Our FURVENT and ALPACCA global pivotal trials have the potential to establish firmonertinib as a first-line treatment option for uncommon EGFR mutations in non-small cell lung cancer,” Chief Executive Officer Bing Yao stated.

Beyond firmonertinib, ArriVent has moved ARR-217, also known as MRG007, into Phase 1b dose optimization in patients with gastrointestinal malignancies. The CDH17-targeted antibody-drug conjugate is being developed in partnership with Lepu Biopharma Co., Ltd.

ArriVent plans to present initial Phase 1 dose-escalation data for ARR-217 at a future medical conference, though it did not provide a specific date.

A second antibody-drug conjugate, ARR-002, is expected to dose its first patient in a Phase 1 trial during the third quarter. The FDA cleared the investigational new drug application for the program in May.

ARR-002 is a dual-targeting MUC16/NaPi2b tetravalent antibody-drug conjugate initially being studied in ovarian and endometrial cancers. The first-in-human study is designed to evaluate safety, dosing and preliminary evidence of efficacy.

ArriVent also entered an exclusive agreement with Shanghai Allist Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. covering development and commercialization of ARR-002 in mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. ArriVent retained rights outside Greater China.

The biotechnology company reported $373.1 million in cash and investments as of June 30 and expects those resources to finance operations into 2028.

Operating cash use declined to $81.5 million during the first six months of 2026 from $94.1 million a year earlier. Research and development expenses fell to $80 million from $89 million.

General and administrative expenses, however, increased to $18.8 million from $11.4 million during the comparable six-month period.

ArriVent recorded a net loss of $93.2 million for the first half of 2026, narrowing from $95.8 million in the same period last year.

The expected FURVENT results and the start of patient dosing for ARR-002 leave the company facing multiple clinical milestones during the remainder of 2026 as it deploys its cash position across its lung cancer and antibody-drug conjugate programs.
