PHILADELPHIA, PA — Ardent Credit Union joined more than a dozen regional credit unions in a coordinated effort to support Philabundance, contributing to a campaign that raised $31,850 and collected approximately 1,720 pounds of food for hunger-relief programs across the Delaware Valley.
The Philadelphia-based credit union donated $750 as part of the annual initiative, which was held at Philabundance’s Hunger Relief Center in South Philadelphia. The combined donations will help support the nonprofit’s network of more than 350 social service agencies serving communities across nine counties.
Jenn Pensa, Ardent’s executive vice president and chief operating officer, represented the credit union at the event alongside leaders from other participating financial institutions.
Philabundance distributes food to more than 90,000 people each week and reported providing 37 million meals during 2025, underscoring continued demand for food assistance throughout the region.
Ardent President and Chief Executive Officer Rob Werner said the partnership reflects the cooperative mission shared by credit unions.
“By joining forces to support Philabundance, we’re helping ensure more of our neighbors have access to the food and resources they need,” Werner stated.
The annual campaign builds on previous collaborations between area credit unions to address food insecurity through both financial contributions and donations of nonperishable food.
Ardent Credit Union serves more than 34,000 members throughout the Philadelphia region. In addition to its support for Philabundance, the member-owned financial cooperative partners with local organizations including the YMCA and Villanova Athletics as part of its community outreach efforts.
