GLENSIDE, PA — Arcadia University and Acts Retirement-Life Communities have partnered to provide workforce development and professional training programs for Acts employees across nine states, the organizations announced.
The partnership gives Acts team members access to more than 150 workforce certificate programs offered through Arcadia University’s Workforce Development initiative, with emphasis on allied health, skilled trades, and leadership development.
Programs are offered through a partnership between Arcadia and Core Education and include training in healthcare, information technology, manufacturing, and business. Many programs qualify for continuing education units and professional development credits and are available in online and hybrid formats designed for working professionals.
Acts Retirement-Life Communities, headquartered in Fort Washington, operates 28 continuing care retirement communities across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Alabama. The organization employs more than 8,600 workers and serves about 11,000 residents.
John Noakes, associate provost and director of the Center for Professional Futures at Arcadia University, said the initiative is designed to help employers address changing workforce demands through employee training and career development.

Jo Anne Hartman, vice president of education and research at Acts, said the partnership is intended to support employee advancement and prepare workers for changing industry needs.
“This partnership with Arcadia University allows us to provide valuable opportunities for professional advancement, ensuring our team members are equipped to meet the evolving needs of our residents and the industry,” Hartman said.
