WILMINGTON, DE — Delaware State Police are investigating after a bank patron was allegedly assaulted and robbed while preparing to make a deposit Sunday night at a PNC Bank in Wilmington.
Troopers responded at approximately 9:45 p.m. Aug. 9 to the PNC Bank at 2203 Kirkwood Highway for a reported robbery, according to state police.
Investigators allege the victim was preparing to make a deposit when an unknown person approached, assaulted the victim and demanded money.
After a brief struggle, the suspect allegedly fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, police reported.
The victim went to an area medical facility and was treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening, according to state police.
The Delaware State Police Criminal Investigations Unit is handling the case. No arrest or suspect description was provided.
