PHILADELPHIA, PA — Aramark (NYSE: ARMK) has secured a new partnership with the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh as the food-services provider expands its footprint in higher education and seeks growth through campus dining, retail, and hospitality operations.
The agreement calls for Aramark to overhaul dining and hospitality services across the Wisconsin campus with new retail concepts, expanded nutrition-focused offerings, and event services aimed at improving student engagement and supporting recruitment efforts.
The partnership also marks Aramark’s return to the University of Wisconsin system, a strategic win in the competitive collegiate food-services market where operators are increasingly using technology-enabled dining, wellness programming, and branded experiences to secure long-term institutional contracts.
Aramark plans to introduce multiple new campus concepts, including a standalone “Eat to Excel” retail location focused on performance nutrition for student athletes and active students. The company described the Oshkosh site as the first dedicated retail format for the program adjacent to a campus dining hall.
Additional initiatives include new food concepts inside Reeve Memorial Union, technology-enabled ordering through a platform called The Drop, and a rotating student-focused culinary concept branded as Foodlab.
The company also plans to expand mobile ordering and kiosk-based pickup through a new Outpost location in the Science Building and add upgraded vending options at the Kolf Sports Center.
In the second year of the agreement, Blackhawk Commons is expected to add a True Balance station featuring meals prepared without gluten and major allergens.
Brian Warzynski, assistant university dining director, characterized the partnership as broader than a traditional food-service contract, noting the university intends to use hospitality programming to strengthen student life and deepen community engagement.
Aramark Collegiate Hospitality President Barbara Flanagan indicated the company is combining national-scale operations with campus-specific programming as it expands within higher education.
The agreement also includes outreach initiatives with Wisconsin K-12 schools intended to support recruitment efforts by introducing prospective students and families to campus experiences.
For athletics and large-scale campus events, Aramark plans to expand hospitality offerings with smokehouse-style menus, mobile food carts, and catered picnic-style meal options.
Aramark currently serves more than 275 colleges and universities nationwide as competition intensifies among large hospitality providers seeking stable institutional revenue streams tied to higher education, healthcare, sports venues, and corporate campuses.
