Amtech Wins UK ERP Contract, Expands Packaging Market Reach

Business News

FORT WASHINGTON, PA — Amtech Software has secured a contract to provide its Encore enterprise resource planning platform to Cumberland Packaging Ltd., expanding the Pennsylvania company’s presence in the United Kingdom’s corrugated packaging sector.

The implementation extends Amtech’s footprint beyond its established customer base in the U.K. label industry and into the broader packaging market, the company reported.

Cumberland Packaging, headquartered in Southend-on-Sea, England, is one of the United Kingdom’s five largest independent corrugated sheet manufacturers. The company produces corrugated and solid board packaging, converted polystyrene, foam products and other packaging materials for customers across the country.

Under the agreement, Cumberland will deploy Amtech’s Encore ERP platform to manage production, inventory and delivery operations through a single system intended to improve operational visibility.

John Watson, Cumberland’s owner and managing director, said the company selected Encore after evaluating multiple ERP platforms, citing Amtech’s experience in the packaging industry and the software’s manufacturing-focused capabilities.

Amtech Chief Executive Officer Chuck Schneider said the agreement strengthens the company’s expansion strategy in the U.K. and Ireland, where it has previously established a customer base among label manufacturers.

“This partnership is particularly meaningful for Amtech,” Schneider said. “It opens the door to the UKI packaging market where we already have a strong foothold in labels.”
