HARRISBURG, PA — The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has announced a historic milestone in iGaming revenue, with December 2024 recording an all-time monthly high of $223.65 million. This figure surpasses the previous record of $200.49 million set in November 2024, reflecting a significant 35.46% increase compared to December 2023.
Total gaming revenue for December 2024 across all regulated formats amounted to $533.08 million, slightly under last year’s figures for the same period. Tax revenue generated during the month reached $223.68 million, reinforcing the economic significance of this sector.
While iGaming showed unparalleled growth, other forms of gaming exhibited mixed results. Retail slot machine revenue totaled $202.07 million for December, a decline of 2.74% from the $207.77 million recorded in December 2023. Table game revenue also saw a decrease, dropping 4.27% to $79.39 million compared to the previous year.
Sports wagering experienced a more pronounced drop, with taxable revenue falling 69.89% from $72.50 million in December 2023 to $21.87 million in December 2024, despite a total handle of $893.37 million.
Video gaming terminals (VGTs) recorded $3.40 million in adjusted revenue, a slight year-over-year decline of 0.87%. Conversely, fantasy contest revenue grew by 9.68%, reaching $2.69 million.
December’s record-breaking performance in iGaming underscores its rapid growth and increasing role in Pennsylvania’s gaming economy. The PGCB continues to oversee a diverse and evolving industry while ensuring compliance and integrity across all platforms.
