WASHINGTON, D.C. — The U.S. Mint has begun accepting orders for collector bags and two-roll sets of its 2026 Semiquincentennial quarter honoring the Declaration of Independence, expanding public access to a coin released into circulation earlier this month as part of the nation’s 250th anniversary commemoration.
The quarter entered general circulation on June 1 and is among the products being issued through the Mint’s 2026 Semiquincentennial Coin and Medal Program, which marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
The coin’s obverse features Thomas Jefferson, principal author of the Declaration of Independence and the nation’s third president. The design includes the inscriptions “E PLURIBUS UNUM,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “1776 ~ 2026.”
The reverse depicts the Liberty Bell with its historic crack visible. According to the Mint, the design is intended to symbolize both the Declaration of Independence and the fragility of the young nation at its founding.
The Mint is offering three collector products featuring circulating-quality coins. Bags containing 100 quarters minted in either Philadelphia or Denver are priced at $63 each, while a two-roll set containing 80 quarters from both mints is available for $56.
The release is part of a broader federal effort to commemorate the United States’ semiquincentennial through coins, medals, and other numismatic products.
