WEST GOSHEN TWP, PA — A proposed expansion and renovation of E.N. Peirce Middle School will go before West Goshen Township supervisors Oct. 19, as the West Chester Area School District seeks approval to replace temporary classrooms with permanent construction and rework portions of the campus.
The district is seeking conditional-use approval for the school at 1314 Burke Road under Section 84-12G(1) of the township zoning ordinance. No approval has been granted.
The project would replace existing modular classrooms with permanent classrooms and add other classrooms, learning areas, and administrative space. The district also plans to renovate the school’s kitchen.
Changes outside the building would include modifications to the existing parking lot and access driveway and the installation of stormwater-management facilities.
Those improvements would make permanent changes to the campus while bringing traffic circulation, parking and stormwater conditions into the township’s land-use review.
The Board of Supervisors will hold the public hearing at 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at the West Goshen Township Municipal Building, 1025 Paoli Pike in West Chester.
Supervisors will receive testimony on the application and may approve the conditional use, impose conditions, deny the request, or continue the hearing.
The application is available for public inspection at the township’s administrative offices during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Residents can also check the township calendar at https://westgoshen.org/calendar.aspx for meeting information.
