MALVERN, PA — Goshen Fire Company will receive an $800,254 state grant to expand and modernize its fire station, funding construction of a new apparatus bay and upgrades to aging building systems used to support emergency response operations.

State Reps. Kristine Howard and Chris Pielli announced the award, which was made through Pennsylvania’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program.

The project includes construction of an apparatus bay, renovation work, replacement of end-of-life building components, upgrades to mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, and parking improvements.

The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program provides state funding for design, acquisition and construction projects with regional economic, civic, cultural, recreational or historical significance. Projects must demonstrate broader regional impact and are intended for initiatives that cannot obtain primary funding through other state programs.

Howard called the investment an important step in supporting local emergency services.

“Supporting our local emergency services is crucial,” Howard said. “I am thankful we have secured these funds to help those who risk their lives to help us.”

Pielli described the funding as an investment in first responders and public safety.

“Our firefighters put their lives on the line every day to keep us safe,” Pielli said. “When our state dollars are going back to our first responders, that’s responsible government at work helping to protect the health, safety and welfare of our residents.”
