HARRISBURG, PA — Auditor General Timothy L. DeFoor released a compliance audit of the Chester County Children and Youth Services agency covering the first quarter of 2026, finding the agency properly accounted for state funds used to protect at-risk children.
The audit reviewed fiscal reports submitted to the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, which document how counties use state funding for child welfare services.
“Our audits ensure that counties are properly using state funds to protect at-risk children,” DeFoor said.
Under state law, the Department of the Auditor General examines county Children and Youth Services agencies to verify that expenditures align with approved purposes, including services for vulnerable children and families.
The Chester County audit focused on financial reporting and compliance with state requirements during the review period.
The Auditor General’s office conducts these audits regularly to ensure accountability and oversight of public funds allocated for child welfare programs.
