UGI Meets ESG Targets as Utility Expands AI Oversight

VALLEY FORGE, PA — UGI Corp. (NYSE: UGI) said it met all environmental, safety and governance goals it had set for 2025, including emissions reductions, workplace safety improvements and governance benchmarks, as the energy company released its latest sustainability report.

The company documented a 55% reduction in Scope 1 greenhouse gas emissions from its baseline target, exceeding its stated goal. UGI also reported it cut total recordable injuries by 35% and accountable vehicle incidents by 50%.

The results come as utilities and energy companies face increasing scrutiny from regulators, investors and customers over emissions performance, worker safety and corporate governance practices.

UGI reported zero employee and contractor fatalities for the fourth consecutive year and implemented a global safety management system to standardize safety practices across its operations.

On the environmental front, the company reported investing more than $500 million in renewable energy projects. UGI Utilities also reduced fugitive methane emissions to 0.06%, according to the report.

The company stated that it has invested more than $94 million in customer energy-efficiency programs since those initiatives began.

UGI also highlighted governance measures, including maintaining a board composed of 90% independent directors and retaining an MSCI AAA ESG rating. The company said it established a formal artificial intelligence governance framework to guide the use of emerging technologies.

In communities where it operates, UGI reported contributing nearly $3 million to charitable organizations and logging more than 40,000 employee volunteer hours during 2025.
