WAYNE, PA — Teleflex Incorporated (NYSE: TFX) secured a national group purchasing agreement with Premier Inc. that gives participating health systems access to pre-negotiated pricing on central venous, arterial and emergency vascular access products.
Premier members may use the agreement at their discretion to purchase selected products from Teleflex’s Arrow vascular access portfolio. Financial terms and the duration of the contract were not disclosed.
The arrangement expands Teleflex’s access to Premier’s network of hospitals and other healthcare providers as health systems seek to standardize medical supplies, control procurement costs and reduce complications associated with vascular access procedures.
Products covered by the agreement include Arrowg+ard Blue Plus central venous catheters, which incorporate antimicrobial protection intended to reduce the risk of catheter-related bloodstream infections.
The contract also includes Arrow ErgoPack systems, arterial catheters and catheterization kits, EZ-IO intraosseous vascular access systems, multi-lumen access catheters and percutaneous sheath introducers.
Cris Gomide, vice president and general manager of Teleflex’s Vascular & Emergency Medicine business, characterized the agreement as a way to broaden access to the company’s products while supporting standardization and workflow efficiency.
“Our Arrow Brand of vascular access solutions are designed to support clinicians across the continuum of care, while helping healthcare organizations advance evidence-based practices, support workflow efficiency, and address risks associated with vascular access complications,” Gomide stated.
Teleflex has marketed vascular access products under the Arrow brand for more than 40 years. The company positions the portfolio for use across multiple care settings, including central venous access, arterial monitoring and emergency intraosseous access.
