The Buttery Reopens in Malvern with Expanded Dining and Community-Focused Concept

The Buttery

MALVERN, PAThe Buttery will reopen its flagship café in Malvern on Saturday, October 25, unveiling a complete renovation and refreshed dining concept aimed at restoring the location’s role as a neighborhood gathering place.

The reimagined café, which underwent a full redesign, now offers a more spacious layout with 62 indoor seats—up from the previous 18—as well as expanded outdoor dining for warmer months. The Buttery will serve breakfast, lunch, and afternoon fare daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., reflecting a shift toward a full-service café experience where guests enjoy freshly prepared, made-to-order meals delivered to their table.

To mark the grand reopening, the café will give away its signature sable cookies to the first 100 customers with a purchase during the opening weekend.

“At The Buttery, we’ve always centered ourselves around a community-first approach,” said John Rhoads, co-owner of The Buttery. “Before the pandemic, Malvern was a true community hub. We had to adapt to changing times, but now it’s time to bring back that sense of togetherness and encourage people to slow down, share a meal, and connect.”

The updated menu blends returning favorites with new seasonal dishes crafted from locally sourced ingredients. Breakfast highlights include Turkish Eggs with garlic herb yogurt and homemade naan, a harissa bacon egg and cheese sandwich on an everything brioche, and banana-flambéed oats. All-day offerings range from Tartines and Mediterranean Eggplant Focaccia to Lemongrass Rice Bowls and seasonal panzanella.

The café will continue serving its well-known coffee, pastries, and breads, all baked daily at The Buttery’s Norristown Bakehouse. With the relaunch, the Malvern location seeks to strengthen its connection to the community—blending artisanal dining with a warm, social atmosphere that reflects the town’s growing culinary scene.
