YPrime Launches eCOA Participant Hub to Improve Trial Engagement

YPrime

MALVERN, PA — YPrime recently launched a new Participant Hub within its electronic clinical outcome assessment platform aimed at improving patient engagement and retention in clinical trials.

The update introduces a “For You” page that centralizes study information, visit schedules, and task tracking within the application to help participants better understand study requirements.

Clinical trials have average dropout rates of about 30%, with higher rates in more complex studies, and YPrime said unclear expectations can contribute to reduced adherence and missing data.

The Participant Hub is designed to provide structured guidance, including study education materials, task prioritization, and access to support resources.

Mike Hughes, chief product and operations officer for eCOA at YPrime, said the goal is to reduce participant uncertainty.

“Reducing uncertainty and cognitive burden strengthens adherence and retention,” Hughes said.

The company said the platform allows participants to track tasks, view upcoming and past visits, and access study information in a single interface.

YPrime cited internal research showing that 46% of participants said clearer explanations of study importance would help maintain engagement.

Aubrey Verna, senior product director for eCOA, said embedding guidance within the platform is intended to support participants throughout the study.

“Delivering participant guidance within the clinical workflow helps participants stay informed, aligned, and engaged,” Verna said.
