BERWYN, PA — Envestnet is expanding its MoneyGuide financial-planning platform to model a broader range of annuities and structured investments in its third technology release of 2026, giving financial advisors more detailed tools for incorporating complex products into client plans.
The R3 release adds support for deferred income annuities, fixed indexed annuities, registered index-linked annuities and structured investments. The changes allow advisors to incorporate product-specific return, protection and income characteristics into planning calculations.
Fixed indexed annuities can now be modeled using participation rates and maximum and minimum returns. Registered index-linked annuities and structured investments support participation rates, protection levels and maximum and minimum returns by term and occurrence.
Deferred income annuity modeling incorporates fixed returns during accumulation years and future annuitization details. Structured investment accounts can also include an optional income rider when applicable.
“This tech release reflects the everyday realities that advisors must navigate with their clients, from evolving account structures to more nuanced tax situations,” Matt Wilson, head of business strategy for Envestnet | MoneyGuide, stated.
Envestnet is also restructuring how advisors enter investment assets. MoneyGuide now consolidates the process for entering accounts by total value or individual holdings, while expanded Summary Accounts allow multiple accounts to remain in summary form until more detailed information becomes available.
Long-term care analysis now includes a searchable database that lets users select cost-of-care assumptions by a client’s ZIP code or city.
The release further integrates MoneyGuide planning data with Envestnet’s Tamarac platform. A MoneyGuide dashboard and Summary tab bring net worth, asset allocation and plan information into advisors’ Tamarac workflows.
MoneyGuide Wealth Studios can now serve as a data source for net-worth pages and widgets in the Tamarac Client Portal. New ownership views separate assets and liabilities by individual owner and whether they are inside or outside an estate.
Net Worth and Success widgets can link directly to Wealth Studios for additional detail.
Envestnet is also expanding tax-planning capabilities within Wealth Studios Lifestyle Studio, adding views and reports designed to expose more of the underlying tax calculations and results used in financial plans.
Lifestyle Studio and Legacy Studio received interface and navigation changes intended to provide more room for live views and easier access to comparison data. Modeling for discounted gifts and transfers has also been expanded beyond existing family limited partnership and intentionally defective grantor trust structures.
MoneyGuide’s Support Center received updated navigation for product training, onboarding and practice-management resources.
