AVONDALE, PA — CQ Medical has acquired .decimal, expanding its portfolio of radiotherapy products and manufacturing capabilities as demand grows for precision cancer-treatment technologies.

The transaction adds .decimal’s patient-specific beam shaping devices and related radiotherapy technologies to CQ Medical’s oncology-focused product lineup.

Founded more than 40 years ago, .decimal manufactures customized radiation therapy devices used in cancer treatment and serves more than 900 cancer centers across the United States, according to the companies.

CQ Medical was formed in 2022 through the combination of CIVCO Radiotherapy and Qfix and produces positioning, immobilization, and imaging-guidance systems used in radiation therapy and related procedures.

The acquisition also expands CQ Medical’s manufacturing and software capabilities tied to customized radiotherapy devices and treatment-planning workflows.

Michael Galbus indicated the deal is intended to strengthen the company’s position in precision radiotherapy technologies.

“Together, we are well positioned to accelerate advancements in radiotherapy and deepen our collaboration with clinical and research partners,” Galbus said in a statement.

According to the companies, .decimal has produced more than 500,000 patient-specific treatment devices and typically manufactures and ships customized products within one to two days after orders are received.

Richard Sweat described CQ Medical as a strategic partner capable of expanding the reach of .decimal’s technologies.

“I am proud to see the company enter this next phase of growth, where our combined capabilities will continue to support clinicians and improve patient care worldwide,” Sweat said.

CQ Medical stated that .decimal’s operations will continue from its Sanford, Florida facility following the acquisition.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
