WEST CHESTER, PA — QVC Group (Nasdaq: QVCG) is eliminating two president-level positions and reshuffling senior management following its emergence from Chapter 11 bankruptcy, extending a leadership overhaul at one of Chester County’s most prominent corporate employers as it seeks to restructure operations and its growth strategy.
Stacy Bowe, president of HSN Brand and U.S. merchandising, and Alex Wellen, QVC Group president and chief growth officer, will step down Sept. 4, according to a Form 8-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Aug. 27.
The company determined Aug. 21 that the president positions overseeing its QxH and Growth businesses would be eliminated as part of what it described as an operational realignment following its financial restructuring.
The changes deepen a management shakeup that began after QVC emerged from bankruptcy in early August. David Rawlinson II left as president and chief executive officer Aug. 7, with former CEO Mike George returning to lead the company on an interim basis.
Wellen had responsibility for QVC’s growth strategy across U.S. social selling, streaming, digital operations, new business development and platform distribution. His departure eliminates a senior position focused specifically on businesses QVC has pursued to diversify beyond its traditional television-shopping model.
Under Wellen, QVC became a top seller on TikTok Shop U.S. and expanded its presence on streaming and other digital platforms, according to the regulatory filing. The company did not specify in the filing how responsibility for those operations will be reassigned after his departure.
Bowe oversaw buying, planning, programming and brand marketing for QVC U.S. and HSN. Her responsibilities also included inventory management and changes to the company’s merchandise assortment.
QVC is also preparing another senior leadership transition next year.
Mike Fitzharris will remain president of QVC U.S. Brand and chief operating officer before moving into the roles of president of QVC International and chief operations officer when current international president Aidan O’Meara retires in spring 2027.
Fitzharris will cease serving as president of QVC U.S. when that transition occurs, according to the filing.
The elimination of the QxH and Growth president positions concentrates QVC’s senior management structure as the company begins operating under its post-bankruptcy organization. The restructuring comes as QVC attempts to balance its established television retail operations with investments in social commerce, streaming and other digital distribution channels.
