ELVERSON, PA — Ducklings Early Learning Center will open its first Berks County location on Aug. 3 in Elverson, expanding the childcare provider’s footprint with a center serving children from infancy through pre-kindergarten and offering before- and after-school programs for local families.
The new center, located at 4987 N. Twin Valley Road in the Twin Valley School District, is accepting enrollments ahead of its opening. The facility will also offer summer camp programming and transportation for elementary school students participating in its before- and after-school care.
The Elverson location is owned by Rachel Yocum, a Honey Brook resident and former director of Ducklings’ East Goshen center. Yocum, who joined the company in 2021 after more than 15 years in early childhood education, holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary and kindergarten education from Penn State University.
The company will host a public open house from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on July 29, giving prospective families an opportunity to tour the facility, meet teachers and learn about its programs.
The center serves infants through pre-kindergarten students and uses Ducklings’ proprietary Here We Grow! curriculum, which emphasizes academic, social and emotional development through play-based learning.
“As both a director and mom to two Ducks of my own, I have a unique perspective on the valuable impact of Ducklings’ approach to learning and growing, centered on a playful, discovery-based curriculum,” Yocum said. “I am excited to open the first Ducklings in Berks County and introduce a new community to the very best in quality childcare.”
Ducklings stated that the Elverson center features classrooms, indoor play areas and outdoor playgrounds designed to support children at different developmental stages.
Families interested in enrolling or learning more can contact the center at elverson@ducklingselc.com or (610) 835-8222. The company is also recruiting full-time teachers.
