EXTON, PA — Brandywine Robotics has relocated to a permanent 4,000-square-foot facility in Exton, a move the nonprofit says will expand its capacity to serve students and support its growing competitive robotics and STEM education programs across Chester County.
The volunteer-led organization, founded in 2013, has begun operating from its new home at 801 Springdale Drive in Whiteland Business Park after spending eight years at Exton Square Mall, according to the organization. The transition began July 1.
Brandywine Robotics provides robotics, engineering and programming programs for approximately 150 students in grades K-12 each year through VEX IQ and VEX Robotics Competition teams. Participants design, build and program robots while developing technical and leadership skills.
The new facility includes multiple competition fields, fabrication and equipment rooms, expanded collaboration space and 24/7 access for student projects and extended build sessions, the organization says.
“Our new facility gives students a permanent home where they can innovate, collaborate, and prepare for success in engineering, technology, and beyond,” the organization’s leadership team said. “More importantly, it positions us to serve even more students and families throughout our community for years to come.”
In addition to supporting competitive robotics teams, Brandywine Robotics hosts STEM outreach events, summer camps, robotics workshops, and tournaments throughout the year. The organization noted that it plans to hold a public open house in early August to showcase the new facility, with additional details to be announced in the coming weeks.
