WEST CHESTER, PA — This National Dog Month, West Chester’s own Toffee is celebrating the incredible impact one small rescue dog can have on a community.
Toffee’s journey began in a remarkable way. After three years of hoping for a dog, Lindsey Bullerdick’s father dreamed repeatedly of Lindsey holding a small brown and white puppy with a unique football-shaped marking on his snout. Months later, while driving home in Cliffside Park, New Jersey, he saw a tiny puppy thrown from a moving vehicle. The puppy landed on a car and slid into his arms — with the same distinctive marking from his dreams.
That puppy was Toffee.
From that moment, Toffee’s life transformed from abandoned to a beacon of hope and inspiration. Now, he is a dog model, actor, TikTok creator, and community ambassador spreading positivity and celebrating the human-animal bond.
“Toffee has completely changed my life,” said Lindsey. “He is my emotional support dog and has given me purpose, companionship, and unconditional love. Watching him bring that comfort and inspiration to others shows how powerful our connection with animals is.”
Toffee’s community impact includes:
- Visits to four senior living communities
- Participation in children’s organizations
- Special guest at a wellness event focused on mental health
- Ambassador for Chester County’s first Strut Your Mutt festival
He’s also appeared in Spot & Tango’s first national TV commercial and partnered with brands like TheraPet, MuddyMat, Disney Magic Match 3D, and Barkle.
Through National Dog Month, Toffee hopes to inspire others to celebrate rescue dogs, support animal welfare, and appreciate how dogs improve lives.
