KENNETT SQUARE, PA — The sights, smells, and flavors of local harvest season are returning to Kennett Square as the KSQ Farmers Market resumes its weekly Friday tradition, bringing fresh food and familiar faces back to the heart of the community.
Beginning May 1, the market will once again gather every Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. at 600 South Broad Street, where more than 20 local farms, food producers, and artisans will offer a wide variety of seasonal goods. From just-picked produce and pasture-raised meats to handcrafted breads, preserves, and flowers, the market has become a go-to destination for residents looking to shop local and connect with the people behind their food.
For many vendors and shoppers alike, the KSQ Farmers Market is about more than groceries—it’s about relationships.
“We have so many regular customers, and the customers are what really makes the market,” said Liam Miller of Full Table Farm. “So many dedicated customers that I love getting to know.”
That sense of connection is echoed by longtime market-goers.
“I feel so fortunate to have found the Kennett Square Farmers Market with a wide array of products that are of such great quality and taste,” said shopper Robin Garrett. “The vibe is amazing!”
This year’s market introduces several new offerings, including fresh, housemade pastas from Sweet Amelia’s, a Kennett-based farm-to-table restaurant. Chef Zack Hathaway said the rotating selection of dried and frozen pastas will feature creative shapes and seasonal ingredients designed to elevate home cooking.
Prepared foods will also expand with Cedar Creek Catering serving ready-to-eat barbecue favorites, while Creekside Coffee Roasting and Hangry Bear Creamery will rotate appearances with refreshing drinks and locally made ice cream.
Families will find plenty to enjoy beyond shopping. A dedicated coloring table, hands-on activities from community groups, and a new reading area curated by Forage Books offer engaging spaces for younger visitors while parents browse.
The market also continues its partnership with Kennett Area Community Service (KACS), encouraging shoppers to donate fresh food and pantry items in designated bins. These contributions are distributed weekly to neighbors in need, reinforcing the market’s role as both a food hub and a community support system.
“Kennett feels like home for us,” said Jake Moore of Moore Meats. “It’s a true farmers market—you can find most of what you need for home cooking here.”
