PHOENIXVILLE, PA — The harmonies, studio experimentation and sun-soaked songs of The Beach Boys are coming to downtown Phoenixville as “Pet Sounds Live!” brings one of rock & roll’s landmark albums to the Colonial Theatre stage.
The Sept. 18 performance will recreate Brian Wilson’s “Pet Sounds” in its entirety while combining live music, narration and multimedia to explore the making of the album and the musical ideas behind it.
Rather than presenting a conventional tribute concert, “Pet Sounds Live!” is built as a journey into the studio, using the performance to place audiences behind the glass as the music is brought to life onstage.
The show celebrates the songs and creative approach that helped make “Pet Sounds” a defining work in The Beach Boys’ catalog, pairing the complete album with stories and historical details presented through the lens of Wilson and the band.
Audiences can also expect plenty of familiar Beach Boys favorites beyond the album.
The program includes “California Girls,” “Don’t Worry, Baby,” “I Get Around,” “Help Me, Rhonda,” “In My Room,” “Surfin’ USA” and “Do It Again,” along with “Good Vibrations.”
Together, the music, narration, and visual elements are intended to give fans more than a night of familiar songs, offering a closer look at how the music was created and why it became such an enduring part of rock history.
