West Chester University to Host 16 Ceremonies for Spring Commencement

WEST CHESTER, PAWest Chester University (WCU) is set to celebrate 3,176 graduates during its Spring Commencement ceremonies, which will run from Friday, May 9, through Sunday, May 11. The University will host 16 ceremonies across the Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall in Philips Memorial Building and Hollinger Field House, ensuring all graduates and their guests are accommodated.

Commencement events begin on Friday, May 9, with an evening ceremony at 7 p.m. at Hollinger Field House for the College of Education and Social Work, and another at 7:30 p.m. at Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall for the College of Business and Public Management.

On Saturday, May 10, ceremonies kick off at 9 a.m. and continue throughout the day, recognizing various undergraduate departments across the colleges of Business, Sciences, Arts, and Humanities. The first of two graduate-level ceremonies will also take place on Saturday at 3 p.m., covering the College of Education and Social Work and the College of Sciences and Mathematics. The second at 6 p.m. will honor graduates from the College of Arts and Humanities, Business and Public Management, Health Sciences, and the Wells School of Music.

WCU’s Philadelphia location will hold two ceremonies on May 10 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel on South Broad Street. The undergraduate event for 56 students begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by the graduate ceremony for 48 students at 12 p.m. Both will be livestreamed for wider access.

Sunday, May 11, will conclude the weekend with ceremonies starting at 9 a.m. and wrapping up by 12:30 p.m., recognizing graduates from the College of Sciences and Mathematics, the College of Health Sciences, and the Wells School of Music.

All graduates and their guests are reminded that tickets are required for admission, with livestream options available for those unable to attend in person. The University encourages attendees to use free parking at garages on New and Sharpless streets for convenience.

Altogether, this spring’s ceremonies add to the 2024-2025 academic year’s total of 4,193 graduates, including those from last December. WCU continues to showcase its commitment to honoring each graduate’s achievements while celebrating its diverse academic community.
