WEST CHESTER, PA — West Chester University will hold 17 commencement ceremonies between Wednesday, May 6, and Sunday, May 10, to accommodate 3,568 spring graduates and their guests, the university announced.
Ceremonies will take place at Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall in Philips Memorial Building and Hollinger Field House on the university’s main campus.
A total of 2,685 undergraduate students are eligible to graduate, with ceremonies organized by department and college throughout the week.
An additional 883 graduate-level candidates will be recognized during two ceremonies on Saturday, May 9, at Hollinger Field House. A 3:30 p.m. ceremony will include graduates from the College of Arts and Humanities, College of Education and Social Work, College of the Sciences and Mathematics, and the School of Music. A 6:30 p.m. ceremony will include graduates from the College of Business and Public Management and the College of Health Sciences.
The university’s Philadelphia location will also host two ceremonies on Saturday, May 9, at the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing for May and August 2026 graduates. The undergraduate ceremony for 55 students is scheduled for 9:30 a.m., followed by a graduate ceremony for 61 students at noon. Both ceremonies will be livestreamed.
Each ceremony is expected to last approximately one hour, with processions beginning 15 minutes before start times.
Tickets are required for guests age three and older. All ceremonies will be livestreamed, and recordings will be available at https://www.wcupa.edu/Commencement/ceremonyRecordings.aspx.
The university reported that, combined with fall commencement, it will graduate a total of 4,692 students for the 2025-2026 academic year, including 3,548 undergraduates and 1,144 graduate students.
Parking for commencement attendees will be available free of charge in garages on New and Sharpless streets.
The full commencement schedule includes ceremonies beginning Wednesday evening for the Honors College, followed by multiple college-specific ceremonies Friday through Sunday across both venues.
