MEDIA, PA — Paintings and other original works by Delaware County’s older artists are taking center stage this summer as Delaware County Community College opens its annual Senior Visions: An Artist Exhibition to the public.
The free exhibition features artwork created by participants in Senior Community Services classes offered through the Center Without Walls program. Contributing artists attend programs at four area centers: Schoolhouse, Chester Senior Center, Good Neighbor, and Friendship Circle.
Running through July 30 at the college’s Marple Campus, the show offers visitors an opportunity to discover the creativity, perspectives, and life experiences of local senior artists while supporting arts programming designed to keep older adults connected and engaged.
The exhibition also highlights the work of Senior Community Services, a Delaware County organization that has served older residents and their families since 1977. The organization operates four nationally accredited senior centers and provides educational, recreational, and support programs throughout the county.
By bringing work created in those community classes into a college gallery, Senior Visions gives participating artists a public platform and introduces a wider audience to the talent developing inside Delaware County’s senior centers.
