WEST GROVE, PA — The Child and Career Development Center Engle Campus (CCDC Engle) introduced its first school mascot, “Echo the Eagle,” during a pep rally Friday, April 10, as part of an effort to build school pride and community engagement.
Students and staff gathered at the campus gymnasium at 107 Schoolhouse Road, where the mascot made its debut following a countdown and name reveal led by a student, aide, and school principal.
The eagle, dressed in blue and white and wearing a CCDC Engle T-shirt, circulated through the crowd, interacting with students and posing for photos.
School officials said the mascot was selected through a process that included input from students, staff, and families, with the eagle chosen to represent strength, focus, and student potential.
“Echo will serve as a joyful reminder that every student’s voice matters, every success deserves to be celebrated, and every member of our school community belongs here,” said Principal Dr. Shannon Brown. “Moments like today help create lasting memories, strengthen relationships, and give students experiences that inspire connection and joy.”
CCDC Engle is the second campus operated by the Child and Career Development Center and serves students with special needs in grades K-12.
The campus opened for the 2025-26 school year to provide services to families in southern Chester County and reduce transportation times for students.
School officials said additional expansion is planned, with a third campus in the Great Valley area expected to open in fall 2026.
The mascot debut marks what school leaders described as a milestone in ongoing efforts to strengthen school culture and student engagement.
