COATESVILLE, PA — The season of giving is in full swing in Coatesville as the City of Coatesville Police Department, Education Equity Alliance, and Coatesville Kids to College come together for the 21st annual ‘Shop with a Cop’ program on Saturday, December 9, 2023.

This uplifting community event, made possible through the generosity of numerous contributors, will see dozens of Coatesville-area youth participating. The program aims not only to spread holiday cheer but also to foster positive relationships between the local youth and law enforcement professionals.

The day will kick off with a breakfast for participating families at Oliver United Methodist Church at 8:30 am. The main event, shopping, will commence at around 9:30 am at the Parkesburg Walmart. Each participating child will have the unique opportunity to shop for holiday gifts for themselves or their loved ones, escorted by a member of the law enforcement community.

The ‘Shop with a Cop’ program, a favorite among locals, stands as a shining example of the power of community collaboration and goodwill. It’s not just about purchasing gifts; it’s about creating lasting memories and positive interactions with law enforcement professionals.

Expressing their gratitude, the City of Coatesville Police Department extends heartfelt thanks to the many police officers, organizations, volunteers, and contributors who make this annual event possible. Their commitment and generosity ensure that the spirit of the holiday season touches every corner of the Coatesville community.
