MEDIA, PA — The Gallery at Delaware County Community College is launching its new Summer Community Exhibition Series with the 2024 Senior Community Services Art Show, titled “A Melody of Creativity.” The show runs from July 31 through August 21 at 901 South Media Line Road, Media, PA 19063.
The annual exhibit showcases the talents of 73 artists from the Senior Community Services classes. These classes are part of the Center Without Walls program and are hosted at four centers: Schoolhouse, Chester Senior Center, Good Neighbor, and Friendship Circle.
An opening reception will take place on Wednesday, July 31, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Art Gallery in Room 2305 of the Academic Building on the Marple Campus. Refreshments will be served, and the event is free and open to the public. The exhibit will be accessible Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Senior Community Services (SCS), founded in 1977, is a community-based organization dedicated to serving Delaware County’s aging population. SCS operates four nationally accredited senior centers and offers a wide range of programs for older residents and their families.
The Gallery at Delaware County Community College hosts up to six visual art exhibitions each year, featuring works by students, community members, and professional artists with national and international acclaim. Besides exhibitions, the gallery invites artists to hold lectures, collaborative projects, and workshops for both the college community and the public.
