WEST CHESTER, PA — Trellist Inc. and Twentify have expanded their Quals.ai research platform with new artificial intelligence tools and data integration capabilities, allowing businesses to analyze customer interviews, revisit findings, and incorporate research into existing marketing and operational systems.
The update extends Quals.ai beyond automated interviews and reporting, adding tools for extracting insights from completed research and connecting interview data with other business applications.
West Chester-based Trellist is the exclusive U.S. distribution partner for Quals.ai, which was developed by Twentify. The platform uses AI to conduct qualitative research through text and voice interviews with human participants.
The latest release introduces Story, a feature that converts findings from individual research projects into visual narratives designed for internal presentations and decision-making.
Another addition, SmartAsk, allows researchers to ask follow-up questions about completed studies, investigate themes, and generate additional analyses without conducting new interviews.
The capability is intended to make existing research data available for subsequent business questions rather than limiting its use to the original study.
Quals.ai has also introduced a public application programming interface, or API, that allows organizations to retrieve project information, interview transcripts, and other research data for use in their own systems.
The integration supports connections with internal research repositories, dashboards, reporting platforms and analytical applications.
It also allows businesses to extract information such as keywords and sentiment from interview responses, including through external AI tools such as Claude.
Thomas Atadan, Trellist’s vice president of new business, product and AI solutions, said the expanded capabilities could help companies use customers’ own language in marketing communications.
“Teams can now pull keywords, sentiment, and other insights straight from the verbatims, on demand and directly inside tools like Claude,” Atadan said.
He said the functionality could support personalized messaging and direct-response marketing, although the announcement did not provide performance results from companies using the new features.
The update also introduces configurable AI moderator profiles, allowing researchers to adjust interview characteristics such as conversational style, directness, brevity, and engagement.
Custom instructions can further align automated interviews with specific research methods or organizational requirements.
Additional tools include Interview Assistant, which transcribes live interviews and recommends follow-up questions, and an Operations Dashboard for tracking interview activity and completion.
Configurable AI Scanner Rules provide another layer of research quality control.
Together, the additions expand the platform’s role across the research process, from recruitment and interview setup through data collection, analysis, and integration with other business systems.
Quals.ai supports AI-moderated interviews and, according to the companies, can produce qualitative research findings in as little as 24 hours.
The latest changes place greater emphasis on extracting additional value from completed interviews, particularly as businesses seek to incorporate customer feedback into marketing, product development and other decisions.
For Trellist, the expansion broadens the capabilities it can offer U.S. customers through its distribution agreement with Twentify, extending the platform’s commercial applications beyond conducting and summarizing qualitative interviews.
