NEWARK, DE — Three Newark residents are facing multiple felony charges after a reported robbery and assault in a park Wednesday morning, authorities said.
According to the New Castle County Division of Police, officers responded at approximately 11:46 a.m. April 1, 2026, to the 100 block of Flamingo Drive in the Sparrow Run community for a report of a robbery that had just occurred in a park area.
Investigators said a victim was approached by 21-year-old Terrance Summers, who allegedly attempted to initiate a physical altercation. Police reported that Terrance Summers, along with 43-year-old Lizbeth Summers and 47-year-old Tyrell Summers, then allegedly engaged in a physical confrontation with the victim.
According to investigators, during the incident, Lizbeth Summers allegedly removed a handgun from her waistband, struck the victim with it, and took property belonging to the victim before all three suspects fled the area in a vehicle.
Authorities said officers later located the three individuals on Curlew Circle and took them into custody without incident.
Police reported that Terrance Summers was charged with first-degree robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, second-degree conspiracy, and third-degree assault. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $21,500.00 secured bail.
Lizbeth Summers was charged with first-degree robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, second-degree conspiracy, and second-degree assault, according to police. Authorities said she was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $26,000.00 secured bail.
Tyrell Summers was charged with first-degree robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, second-degree conspiracy, and third-degree assault. Police reported he was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $21,500.00 secured bail.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
