PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia police are asking for the public’s help identifying a motorcyclist accused of running over an officer’s foot while fleeing an attempted traffic stop Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department, an officer attempted to stop and investigate a motorcyclist for several alleged motor vehicle violations at approximately 4:39 p.m. Aug. 25 in the 1900 block of West Hunting Park Avenue.
Police reported that the motorcyclist initially stopped and the officer exited a police vehicle. The motorcyclist then allegedly fled, running over the officer’s foot with the motorcycle before continuing east on the sidewalk along Hunting Park Avenue, according to investigators.
Police described the person being sought as a Black male with a slim build who was wearing a green jacket. Authorities identified the motorcycle as a gray 2020 Suzuki DR-Z400SM.
The Philadelphia Police Department’s Northwest Detective Division is investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at 215-686-3353 or 215-686-3354 and reference case number 26-39-061964.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
