DUI Arrest, Crashes And Theft Reported in Wyomissing

WYOMISSING, PA — Wyomissing police handled 30 incidents on February 25, 2026, including a suspected DUI arrest, multiple crashes, a retail theft investigation, and numerous traffic stops, according to the department’s incident listing.

Shortly after 12:26 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop near Penn Avenue and Berks Place for an alleged vehicle code violation. Police reported the operator was transported to St. Joseph Medical Center for a legal blood draw and the vehicle was towed. The case remains under investigation as a suspected driving under the influence offense.

Later that morning, officers issued a citation following a traffic stop on North Wyomissing Boulevard near Van Reed Road for an alleged window tint violation. Additional stops throughout the overnight hours resulted in warnings for equipment-related issues, including defective lighting and registration violations.

At approximately 9:11 a.m., police responded to Berkshire Court for a report of an abandoned vehicle parked on private property. Officers initiated the abandoned vehicle process, according to the report.

Around 10:47 a.m., officers were dispatched to State Hill Road near Wingert Road for a two-vehicle crash. Police reported no injuries and one vehicle was towed from the scene.

In the early afternoon, officers responded to Penn Avenue for a reported trespass involving a male who had allegedly previously been told he was not permitted on the property. Police said the individual was gone upon arrival but later contacted and advised of the civil process and warned he was trespassed from the location.

At approximately 1:50 p.m., police were dispatched to Bern Road for a reported retail theft. Officers detained and questioned one individual who was later released. Police stated charges are pending as the investigation continues.

Police also documented a walk-in fraud complaint on Spring Street in which a resident reported a phone had allegedly been hacked and reported stolen. The complainant requested documentation to provide to a phone company while filing a complaint. No further police action was taken at that time.

Two additional non-reportable crashes were investigated on Paper Mill Road during the late afternoon and early evening hours. Police reported no injuries in either incident, and no vehicles were towed.

Evening activity included several traffic stops along Berkshire Boulevard, Penn Avenue, State Hill Road and North Wyomissing Boulevard for alleged violations such as expired registration, traffic signal violations, driving without headlights, improper lane usage and lighting defects. Police reported a mix of warnings and citations were issued.

Officers also responded to multiple alarm activations on Berkshire Boulevard and Reed Avenue, all of which were determined to be false or accidental after checks of the properties.

Police additionally investigated a 911 hang-up call on Berkshire Boulevard, where contact was made with an individual who reported the call was accidental.

According to the department’s report, all 30 incidents from February 25 were cleared or remain under appropriate follow-up investigation.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
