WILMINGTON, DE — A targeted narcotics investigation led to the arrest of two men and the seizure of illegal drugs in Wilmington, police said, as officers moved swiftly to disrupt what they allege was active street-level drug trafficking.
According to the Wilmington Police Department, members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were conducting an investigation at approximately 11:15 a.m. on January 6 into suspected illegal drug sales involving 26-year-old Jordyn Williams and 24-year-old Jahmier Robinson-Handy in the area of East 9th and North Pine Streets.
Police allege that during the course of the operation, officers conducted a vehicle stop in the 200 block of East 23rd Street in connection with the investigation and took both men into custody without incident. During the stop, officers recovered approximately 6.3 grams of crack cocaine and 15 grams of marijuana.
Williams was charged with two counts of alleged possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and second-degree conspiracy. He was arraigned in New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and released on $11,000 secured bail, authorities said.
Robinson-Handy was charged with the same alleged offenses — two counts of possession with intent to deliver and second-degree conspiracy. He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution pending further proceedings.
Police emphasized that all charges are allegations and that Williams and Robinson-Handy are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
