CHESTER SPRINGS, PA — The Mill at Anselma Preservation and Educational Trust will host its annual Cider Fest on Saturday, September 27, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, inviting families and neighbors to celebrate fall with music, history, and community activities at the National Historic Landmark.

Cider pressing has long been tied to the Mill’s heritage. In the 18th and 19th centuries, local farmers brought apple harvests to be pressed into cider, a staple of colonial life. The festival carries forward that tradition, showcasing the Mill’s water-powered equipment while serving as a modern gathering for the community.

Highlights include performances by the Lenape Brass Band and the Blue Belles, demonstrations of colonial baking and the Mill’s historic machinery, and guided tours spanning nearly 300 years of history. Families can also engage in children’s activities, including crafts, games, face painting, and a scavenger hunt, while local vendors offer food, produce, flowers, crafts, and beverages.

“This family event is a wonderful way to celebrate the season while connecting with our community and experiencing the Mill’s incredible history in action,” said Ernie Holling, chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Mill at Anselma.

The Lionville Fire Company and Uwchlan Ambulance Corps will be on hand to connect with visitors. Proceeds will benefit preservation efforts and educational programming at the Mill, built in 1747.

Admission is free for Mill members. General admission is $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for seniors over 62 and children ages 4 to 14, while children under 4 enter free. A rain date is scheduled for October 4. The Mill at Anselma is located at 1730 Conestoga Road in Chester Springs.
