KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Progressive rock fans will have the chance to experience two powerhouse acts when Joe Deninzon & Stratospheerius join The Tea Club for a live performance at Kennett Flash on Saturday, October 5.
The all-ages show brings together two bands closely tied to the legendary rock group Kansas. Stratospheerius is led by Kansas violinist Joe Deninzon, while The Tea Club features bassist Dan McGowan, who also plays with the band. Their shared connection and mutual admiration, forged at ProgStock festivals, add a unique edge to the event.
Stratospheerius’ set will showcase material from their latest album Impostor! including tracks such as “Outrage Olympics,” “Voodoo Vortex,” “Storm Surge,” and the title track. Fans can also expect favorites from the group’s double CD/DVD-Blu-ray box set Behind the Curtain (Live at ProgStock). Deninzon, hailed by Progressive Rock Central as “perhaps the finest electric violinist of his generation,” has appeared on more than 100 recordings and shared stages with artists ranging from The Who and Bruce Springsteen to Sheryl Crow and Ritchie Blackmore.
The Tea Club, fronted by brothers Patrick and Dan McGowan, blends art rock, folk, electronica, and romanticism into a distinctive style. Their latest album, If / When, explores themes of death, resilience, and hope. The group’s dynamic sound is anchored by bassist Jamie Wolff, drummer Dan Monda, and keyboardist Joe Dorsey.
The concert will take place at Kennett Flash, located at 102 Sycamore Alley in Kennett Square. Admission is $25 for the general public, $20 for members, with a $5 surcharge for BYOB.
With Deninzon and McGowan sharing the stage outside their Kansas commitments, the night promises a rare collaboration that will resonate with progressive rock enthusiasts and local music fans alike.
