PHILADELPHIA, PA — Menopause can bring changes that affect far more than physical health, yet conversations about those experiences are not always easy to start. A Roxborough event this month aims to change that by bringing women, partners, families and caregivers together for an evening of expert perspectives, personal connections and open discussion.
“The Gray Area: A Panel Conversation on Menopause” will take place Thursday, Oct. 15, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Elite Sports Factory, 5050 Umbria Street in Philadelphia, during Menopause Awareness Month.
The three-hour gathering will combine a moderated panel discussion with audience questions, opportunities to meet panelists individually and a reception featuring refreshments, wellness drinks, wine tasting and music.
The event is designed to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where attendees can explore the physical, emotional and personal changes associated with menopause while connecting with others navigating similar experiences.
Amani Jackson will serve as host and moderator, guiding a discussion featuring Natasha Bryant, Julie Parana, Aja Demby and Sandy Cini. The panel will bring multiple professional perspectives to the conversation, giving attendees an opportunity to hear different approaches to understanding and managing menopause-related changes.
Rather than limiting the experience to a traditional presentation, organizers have built time into the program for audience participation and direct interaction with the speakers.
Doors will open at 5 p.m. for registration, with attendees encouraged to arrive early and enjoy welcome drinks and light refreshments. Doors will close at 5:50 p.m. to minimize interruptions during the panel.
Jackson will introduce the program at 6 p.m., followed by introductions of the panelists. The main conversation is scheduled from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m., with an audience question-and-answer session continuing until 8 p.m.
The evening will conclude with a meet-and-greet reception from 8 to 9 p.m., allowing attendees to speak individually with panelists, explore resources and make community connections.
The reception will feature a wine tasting sponsored by Cyrenity Sips, music from DJ Turtle and signature wellness drinks from Royal Blush Bar. Guests will also receive a swag bag and raffle ticket as part of their admission.
Organizers emphasize that the gathering is intended for more than women experiencing menopause themselves. Partners, family members, caregivers and others interested in better understanding the transition are also encouraged to participate.
By bringing these groups together, the event seeks to make conversations about menopause more accessible while helping attendees build connections and identify resources that may support them beyond the evening.
