Martic Heights Drive Bridge to Close for Replacement in Lancaster County

Travel Restrictions

LANCASTER, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that the Martic Heights Drive (Route 3018) bridge in Martic Township will close next week for a full replacement project.

Weather permitting, the closure will begin Wednesday, August 20, and is expected to remain in place until late October. The bridge spans a tributary to Tucquan Creek between Creamery Road and Steinman Farm Road. A detour will guide motorists along River Road (Route 3017), Route 324 (Marticville Road), and Red Hill Road (Route 3019).

The project will replace the existing slab bridge with a precast concrete box culvert, reconstruct the approaches, and install new signage and guiderails. It is the second bridge in a two-bridge contract, following the Bridge Valley Road (Route 3038) replacement, which began in late June and is expected to reopen in mid-to-late September.

JVI Group, Inc., of York Springs, is overseeing the $1.99 million contract. All work is anticipated to be completed by October 22, 2025.
