Wilmington Man Charged in Stroud Street Shooting

WILMINGTON, DEWilmington Police have arrested a 25-year-old man in connection with a shooting that occurred on June 27, 2025, in the 200 block of Stroud Street.

At approximately 4:05 p.m., officers from the Uniformed Services Division responded to reports of a shooting and located a 23-year-old female victim suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to the hospital and is currently in stable condition.

Detective John O’Connor of the Criminal Investigations Division was assigned to the case and, through the investigation, identified Lamir Crews as a suspect. Later that day, Crews was apprehended without incident.

Crews has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Assault (First Degree)
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and has been committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $100,000 cash-only bail.

Authorities emphasize that Crews is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
